The BioDetect system helps damage service companies, mold remediation companies, consulting and advisory companies within building analysis including mold infestation etc., insurance companies etc. in a fast, accurate and inexpensive way to investigate mold and bacteria contamination on water damaged materials. The biofilm created by mold and bacteria growth on water damaged building materials can be easily detected using the BioDetect system.
The primary function of the BioDetect system is to determine the contamination level of building materials and to document the cleaning and disinfection effect after a mold or water/sewer damage restoration.
Water damage and mold growth in buildings and homes is a serious health risk. Contaminated or water-damaged building materials and surfaces in buildings can create indoor climate problems that can be very difficult to identify and treat. BioDetect Ultrasnap ATP swabs and BioDetect Systemsure Plus luminometer are used to determine the amount of viable biological material (mold and bacteria), biofilm and similar microbial organisms on contaminated surfaces. The purpose of sampling is to determine the degree of biological surface contamination on cleaned substrates, building surfaces and materials that are part of a remediation project, cleaned and disinfected building materials. Building materials suitable for sampling with the BioDetect system include, but are not limited to, wall studs (metal or wood), concrete, vinyl and ceramic tiles, laminate surfaces, stainless steel, masonry, plastic, plasterboard, wood panels, glass, etc.
The BioDetect bio-contamination detection system is designed to test the cleanliness of surfaces and the disinfection efficiency of mold and bacteria remediation. The system cannot detect specific bacteria, viruses or fungal organisms, but will define the surfaces where these microorganisms may be present as a result of dirty or unsanitary conditions.
