Energy meters and hour meters from Schnabel Elektrotechnik are MID certified and calibrated. This means that the KWh-Meter (energy meter) has been approved and complies with the European Measuring Instruments Directive (MID). This means that the meter is reliable and accurate, and is approved for billing when settling e.g. power consumption on water and fire damage etc. A calibration determines the deviation of a measuring instrument in order to adjust it so that measurements are displayed correctly on the scale. Calibration is important because it ensures that the measuring equipment provides accurate and consistent results. After calibration, a certificate or proof is issued stating the difference.

Some technical equipment now comes with energy meters and hour meters. However, there are still a large number of power-consuming equipment, old and new, that do not have an energy meter or hour meter. When you use an SL-EH100MID-eco with 4 sockets, you can connect equipment without energy meters and hour meters, but also equipment with energy meters and hour meters. The advantage of using this 4-way socket for all equipment is that you can accurately measure your total power consumption from the same power outlet as the SL-EH100MID-eco is connected to, from START to FINISH of your renovation work. These could be dehumidifiers, fans, HEPA air purifiers, small tools, etc. At the end of the decontamination job, simply read the total power consumption of 3 SL-100MID-eco with a total of 12 plugs, and not keep track of 12 different machines, plus all the loose items like hand tools etc. The SL-EH100MID-eco makes it much easier and more manageable for the technician to measure the total power consumption from START to END – and with great accuracy.

Setup with energy meter power strip SL-EH100MID-eco. This is how easy it is to achieve complete and precise control over your power consumption in smaller, but especially larger damage restoration jobs if one or more SL-EH100MID-eco 4-way power strips with energy meter and hour meter are used throughout the restoration process. The image is a visualization and example of what a dehumidification setup could look like using both equipment with and without energy meters and hour meters. All 8 machines are connected to a total of 2 SL-EH100MID-eco, 4 machines for each unit. During the decontamination process, you can connect and disconnect any power-consuming equipment as you wish. Power consumption is measured continuously and accumulated in the SL-EH100MID-eco unit.
Instead of having to keep track of the power consumption of 8 different machines plus any hand tools etc. throughout the entire decontamination process, which in many cases would be a confusing and time-consuming task, with the risk of great measurement uncertainty – simply read the accumulated total energy consumption in kwh-hours at the end of the decontamination process, which is converted into dollars and cents to be used for billing or other control.

If you add up the wattage consumption of the 4 machines connected to each SL-EH100MId-eco, you can see that none of the 2 power outlets are overloaded. See table 1 and table 2. Both values below 2500 watts, which is the recommended load for continuous operation. Max load short-term 1-2 hours is 3600 watts.
